Calvin:  We met Fanny at her office.  She was introducing us to a development project.  She did a good job presenting the project. She was professional, detailed and able to address questions that our family had.  However, we did not go ahead with that property.  Coincidently, my brother wanted to list his home a couple of weeks later.  I introduced him to Fanny.  My brother later told me that Fanny had provided them with many advices to prepare their home for listing.  Subsequently, they sold their place for a higher price.  So when I need sell my home, I contacted Fanny.

TREB Market Watch February Highlight

This has been a long and cold winter in Toronto Area.  However, the property market has not faltered due to the inclement weather as indicated in TREB February market data.

Some highlights from Market Watch:-

- there were 5,731 resales in February, about 2% more than February 2013;

-average home sale price in February was $553,193.  It was $509,396 12 months ago;

- compared to last year, there were less new and current listings.  It is continued to be a seller market;

- average detached homes and townhouses appreciated about 11% in price.  Prices of detached and townhomes in '416' area raised by nearly 16% annd 21%, respectively.

"... Home prices, on average, will trend upwards at a pace well-above the rate of inflation.  The impact of strong price growth and affordability by low borrowing costs,"  Jason Mercer, TREB's Senior Manager of Market Analysis.

Top Seondary Schools in Ontario 2012-2013

The report card is out.  Based on 2012-2013 EQAO testing data, Fraser Institute tabulated and ranked Ontario secondary schools.

- St. Michael's Choir School remained the top position (our of 740 schools).

- Bayview S.S. and St. Therese of Lisieux C.H.S. of Richmond Hill tied at the 6th.  Richmond Hill High School ranked 24th.

- 5 Markham secondary schools made the top 30: Unionville H.S.(2), Pierre Elliott Trudeau H.S.(8), Markville S.S.(11), Bur Oak S.S.(15), St. Robert C.H.S.(18)

Like previous year, we mapped the top 30 on Google Map for the ease of reference.

For those who are into math, we mapped 2012 Mathematica top performing schools in Markham, Richmond Hill and Toronto.
